How the bottle top dispenser is used
Bottle top dispensers are used wherever the same volume of a reagent is added again and again: buffer and reagent additions in analytical work, titration preparation, media making and class practicals where many students need identical portions. Dispensing straight from the stock bottle keeps the reagent closed between strokes and limits spills and contamination.
- Choose the adapter that matches the bottle neck (S40, GL25, GL28, GL32 or GL38) and fit it to the dispenser.
- Check that the 295 mm tube reaches close to the bottom of the bottle, then mount the dispenser on the bottle.
- Set the required volume on the scale between 2.5 and 25 ml.
- Prime by working the piston a few times into a waste beaker until no air bubbles remain.
- Dispense by lifting the piston fully and pressing it down steadily into the receiving vessel.
Check each liquid against the limits in the table before use: vapour pressure up to 500 mbar, viscosity up to 500 mm²/s, density up to 2.2 g/cm³ and temperature up to 40 °C.
