How the anemometer is used
An anemometer measures how fast air is moving. The sensor is held facing into the airflow and the display updates every 300 ms, so changes in speed show almost at once. MAX/MIN record captures the strongest and weakest readings during a test, and data hold freezes a value so it can be noted down after the meter is taken out of the airstream.
In teaching it supports practicals on wind speed, fan output and air resistance, and the five selectable units make unit conversion concrete: 1 m/s equals 3.6 km/h. In laboratories and workshops it is used for simple airflow checks at fume cupboards, extract grilles and duct openings.
