How it is used
In a traditional spirit lamp a cotton wick draws alcohol up to the flame, and the wick chars and must be trimmed or replaced. In this wickless design a copper-plated torch conducts heat back into the fuel, so the alcohol vaporises and burns at the torch head. The flame spreads evenly around the head and there is no wick to maintain.
