How the ultrasonic bath works
Transducers bonded to the tank convert electrical energy into sound waves at 38 kHz. In the liquid these waves create huge numbers of microscopic cavitation bubbles that form and collapse against every wetted surface, scrubbing dirt, grease and residues out of blind holes and crevices that a brush cannot reach. Warming the liquid to between 30 and 80°C speeds up this action and helps detergents work.
The three function modes change how the energy is delivered: degas drives dissolved air out of fresh liquid or solvents, sweep varies the frequency slightly so cleaning is even across the tank without hot spots, and boost raises the power for stubborn contamination. The 90 litre tank takes large parts, baskets of glassware or many sample containers in one load.
- Fill the tank with water or a suitable cleaning solution to the working level.
- Set the heater dial in 5°C steps between 30 and 80°C and let the liquid warm up.
- Run the degas function on fresh liquid before the first cleaning cycle.
- Suspend the items in the liquid, select a timer setting from 1 to 30 minutes, and use boost or sweep as the load requires.
