How the laboratory jack is used
The jack works like a scissor lift. Turning the adjusting screw draws the crossed arms together, which pushes the top plate up; turning it the other way lets the plate down. Because the screw holds its position, the platform stays at any height between 60 mm and 250 mm without a separate lock.
