How the electric burner is used
A gas Bunsen burner needs a piped or bottled gas supply, a tube and a lit flame on the bench. The electric burner does the same heating work from a mains socket. Its high-power heater sits inside a reflective stainless steel bowl that directs heat upward, so the output is concentrated into a column above the 130 mm heating area rather than spreading sideways.
This makes it useful in classrooms and field laboratories without gas, in rooms where open flames are not allowed near flammable solvents, and for younger classes where a naked flame is a concern. Test tubes in a holder, evaporating basins and small beakers on a suitable support are heated above the bowl, while the wire guard keeps fingers away from the heater.
