The Static Dynamic Balancing Apparatus from Lab Exports is designed for carrying out experiments to balance the masses of a single rotating mass system, both statically and dynamically, and to observe the effect of unbalance in a rotating mass system. The apparatus consists of a stainless steel shaft fixed in a rectangular frame, with a set of four blocks and a clamping arrangement. For static balancing, each block is individually clamped on the shaft and its relative weight is determined using a cord and container system in terms of the number of steel balls. For dynamic balancing, a moment polygon is drawn using the relative weights and the angular and axial position of the blocks, and the shaft is rotated by a motor to check dynamic balance. The system includes angular and longitudinal scales and is suspended with chains for dynamic balancing.
