Vibration Lab Complete 11 Experiment
Product Code : EL-TOML-11024
Quick answer: The vibration lab complete 11 experiment set-up lets students verify the main relations of mechanical vibration on one channel-section frame. It covers simple and compound pendulums, bifilar suspension, spring-mass systems, single and two rotor torsional vibration, viscous damping and Dunkerley's rule, with a motor-driven strip chart recorder. Lab Exports manufactures it in Delhi for engineering colleges, polytechnics and TVET institutes.

Experiments on the vibration lab
Vibration theory rests on a few relations that are easiest to learn by measurement. For a simple pendulum the period is T = 2 x pi x sqrt(L/g); a compound pendulum and a bifilar suspension give the radius of gyration and mass moment of inertia of a body from its measured period. A spring-mass system vibrates at the natural frequency f = (1/(2 x pi)) x sqrt(k/m), and the torsional rotor experiments apply the same idea with shaft stiffness and rotor inertia, including the node position in a two rotor system.
The damping experiments show how viscous or frictional damping reduces amplitude and changes the response of a forced rotor, with the strip chart recorder giving a permanent trace for measuring the decay. Dunkerley's rule, 1/f^2 = 1/f1^2 + 1/f2^2 + ..., is checked by comparing the natural frequency of a loaded system with the value predicted from its separate parts.
