White Screen Wooden

White Screen Wooden

Product Code : SCL-LAO-11111

Quick answer: The White Screen Wooden is a white screen used in optics practicals to catch the real image formed by a convex lens or concave mirror, so that the image position can be found and measured. It is used in focal length experiments and for projecting spectra and light patterns. Lab Exports manufactures it in Delhi for schools, colleges and universities.

How it is used

A real image is formed where light rays actually meet, so it can be caught on a surface. In the standard focal length experiments, a lens or concave mirror is set up with a lit object, and the white screen is moved until the image appears sharp on it. The distance of the screen from the lens or mirror is the image distance v used in the lens or mirror formula.

A plain white surface reflects all colours evenly, so it also shows the spectrum from a prism and coloured shadows faithfully, and gives students a clear background when sketching what they see.

  1. Set up the object and the lens or mirror in a line on the bench.
  2. Place the white screen on the far side of the lens, or in front of the concave mirror.
  3. Move the screen slowly until the image is sharpest.
  4. Record the screen position and calculate the image distance.

Frequently asked questions

What is a white screen used for in optics?

It catches the real image formed by a convex lens or concave mirror so the image can be seen and its distance measured.

Can a virtual image be formed on the white screen?

No. Only real images, where the light rays actually meet, can be received on a screen. Virtual images, such as those in a plane mirror, are seen only by looking into the optical component.

What is the price of the white screen?

Prices are not published on the website. Add the white screen to the Enquiry Cart with the Add To Cart button on this page, or email [email protected] with the house code SCL-LAO-11111 and the quantity, to receive a quotation.

Does Lab Exports manufacture the white screen?

Yes. Lab Exports manufactures the white screen at its works at 11/315, Lalita Park, Laxmi Nagar, Delhi 110092, under house code SCL-LAO-11111.
