How the model is used in teaching
This deluxe model places the urinary organs in their true surroundings at the back of the abdomen. The deep dissection view shows the kidney vasculature against the muscles of the posterior abdominal wall, with a section of the ribs above, the vertebrae in the middle and part of the pelvic bones below, so students can see why the kidneys are partly protected by the lower ribs and how far the ureters travel to reach the bladder.
