How the model is used in teaching
A unisex torso keeps the focus on the organ systems everyone shares - breathing, circulation and digestion - which makes it a practical choice for general science and biology classes. Twelve removable parts give enough steps for a proper dissection sequence while keeping the model simple to put back together.
- Remove the ribs to open the chest.
- Lift out the heart and discuss its position in the middle of the chest.
- Take out the stomach and the remaining removable organs of the abdomen.
- Rebuild the torso in reverse order, checking each part against the key card.
Rebuilding the torso in the correct order is a useful end-of-lesson test: a student who can return each numbered organ to its place has understood how the body is arranged, not just the names of the parts.
