How the model is used in teaching
The four lobes of each cerebral hemisphere are named after the skull bones that cover them, and each is linked with particular functions: the frontal lobe with planning and voluntary movement, the parietal lobe with touch and body sense, the temporal lobe with hearing and memory, and the occipital lobe with vision. Taking the right half of this model apart lets students hold each region, see where it lies and connect it with these functions.
The midline cut shows the medial surface of the hemispheres, and the brain stem can be followed down from the base of the brain towards the spinal cord.
