How the tube roller is used
Tubes and bottles are laid across the rollers. As the rollers turn, each container spins slowly about its long axis, so the liquid washes over the whole inner wall; at the same time the rocking action, with a 24 mm amplitude, tilts the tubes so the contents run from end to end. The two motions together mix thoroughly while keeping the shear low.
That gentle action suits samples that must not be shaken hard, such as cell and particle suspensions that must stay evenly dispersed and reagents that foam.
