How the flow meters are compared
The four devices measure flow in different ways. The orificemeter and venturimeter are differential-pressure meters, in which flow is proportional to the square root of the pressure drop: Q = Cd A2 sqrt(2 g h / (1 - (A2/A1)^2)).
