How the board is used in teaching
The Circuit Board Junior introduces the idea of a complete circuit. Students join the cell holder, switch and bulb holder with the connectors, close the switch and see the bulb light; opening the switch or breaking a connection stops the current and the bulb goes out. Replacing the bulb with the fan shows that the same electrical energy can produce motion instead of light.
The fuse gives a first look at circuit protection: it is the deliberately weak link that breaks the circuit if too much current flows. Because the base is transparent, pupils can trace each connection by eye and relate the circuit they build to the circuit diagram they draw.
