How the op-amp experiments are done
Because the trainer has its own signal source, students can see an op-amp handle changing signals, not just steady voltages. With a sine input shown on an oscilloscope beside the output, the inverting amplifier gives a larger waveform shifted by 180 degrees, while the non-inverting amplifier gives a larger waveform in phase with the input.
