How it is used
The rinser works on a syphon. Tap water enters through a spray nozzle and the level rises around the glassware; when it reaches the syphon point, the whole charge of contaminated water drains out at once and the rinser starts to fill again. Each fill-and-empty cycle flushes every pipette and burette in the basket without anyone handling the tubes.
Glassware can first be left in its basket in the soaking jar to loosen residues, then moved to the rinser. The basket is designed to minimise breakage during the wash, and the system is particularly useful where unpleasant or hazardous liquids have been measured out.
- Connect the rinser to a water tap and run its outlet to a drain.
- If residues are stubborn, soak the glassware in its basket in the soaking jar first.
- Place the basket in the rinser and open the tap; the rinser fills and syphons out automatically.
- Allow repeated cycles of about 90 seconds each until the glassware is clean, then lift the basket out to drain.
