How the model is used in teaching
With eight separate pieces, this model lets a class take the brain apart step by step. After the halves are separated along the midline, the lobes can be lifted away in pairs, frontal with parietal and temporal with occipital, to show their positions and the boundaries between them, and the halved brain stem and cerebellum can be removed to show their cut faces.
It suits college, nursing and medical anatomy classes where students must name the regions of the cerebral cortex, the cerebellum and the parts of the brain stem, and relate each region to its main functions.
