What is the difference between the colorimeter and the UV-VIS spectrophotometer?

The colorimeter reads optical density through five fixed glass filters between 420 and 680 nm. The spectrophotometer selects any wavelength from 195 to 1000 nm, including the ultraviolet region, with a 2 nm bandwidth.

Should a school choose a ducted or a ductless fume cupboard?

A ducted cupboard, such as the 1200 mm polypropylene model, exhausts fumes outside through a duct. Ductless and inverted mobile cabinets filter the air and need no duct, but their filters must be changed; the ductless polypropylene model lists a change every 600 hours, or sooner if needed.
